Movember Mustaches Raise Nearly $15,000 for Prostate Cancer!

Movember closing thank you and status of our team!!!

As captain and organizer of our Movember team, I simply need to say "Thank you" again for everyone's help in contributing your face, donating money, or donating items that we auctioned off.

I had hoped we could raise $5,000 for prostate cancer and men's health this year for our Movember efforts ... we nearly triple that thanks to our community!

Officially donations end on Dec. 5, but after totalling all our donations to this point our team "Mo Medics and Mo friends" have raised $14,700!!!

Our team started with Lakeview paramedics and grew to included nurses and doctors for Lakeview and Lakeview clinic. This year we recruited all our surrounding fire departments and many of the guys stepped up and joined us.

You told your families and people dealing with prostate cancer joined in ... our team grew to include 109 offical members that signed up on the website.

Thanks to Bayport Fire, Stillwater fire, Lake Elmo, North St. Paul, Somerset & St. Joseph's Fire and first responders ... everyone really did create the awareness men's health needs.

As men, we simply think we are invinceable and ingore warning signs of our health ... and talk about our problems ... generally we don't. That is "what" movember is about, men need to be proactive with there health and talk about problems or go get check ups.

With early detection prostate cancer is cureable! We are making men's health a topic to talk about, and as captain of our Movember team I'm very proud of what we accomplished this year!

Last minute donations can use this link: https://www.movember.com/us/donate/payment/team_id/421017

Thanks again, please join us next Movember (team is open to all concerned with men's health)

Just a short thought to get the word out quickly about anything in your neighborhood.
Share something with your neighbors. Write a new post... What's up? Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something

Although it seems to not be the best use of our police officer's time, calling the police seems toRead More be the answer. In our neighborhood, we have been told time and time again by the city council, that they don't know if there is a problem, or how frequent that problem is, unless citizens call the police. Now, whether you can get the police to do something about it, is a completely different subject as most shrug you off as if you are nothing more than an annoying gnat. It would certainly be nice if the city would consider some sort of written complaint procedure.
