Bayport Fire Department Celebrates 125 Years in Service

It’s shaping up to be a nice fall weekend in Stillwater.

Stillwater takes on Hastings on Friday night at Pony Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

The sophomore football team is collecting donations for Valley Outreach at the gate. Their goal is to raise more than the sophomore team weighs- 12,075 pounds. Donating 12,075 pounds feeds 288 individuals, 116 families, and is equivalent to $19,199.25.

Cash donations will also be accepted.

This weekend is also the 25th anniversary of Oktoberfest at Gasthaus Bavarian Hunter.

There’s a huge festival tent, German food, beer and music, but you know the drill, they’ve been doing it for 25 years … The Artie Schaefer band Friday and Saturday (must be 21). Sunday is family day with live music. Noon-6 p.m. (all ages welcome).

Aamodt’s Apple Farm is getting in to full swing.

They have Minnesota Honeycrisp, Minnieska/Sweetango, Zestar, McIntosh and Prima varieties in the barn. Pick Your Own Cortland apples at the farm.

Take Me to the River kicks off this weekend with a dozen St. Croix River towns hosting more than 50 events over nine days, including art fairs, concerts, story slams, theater, poetry and more.

Derby Days is going on in Bayport this weekend. As part of the event, the Bayport Fire Department is celebrating 125 years of service.

The fire department has the following activities going on at Lakeside Park:

• Fire Truck Show; 1-4 p.m.
• Kids Activities in the Park: 1-5 p.m.
• Fire Department Demonstrations: 3-5 p.m.
• Woody's Beer Garden: 2-6 p.m. 
• Plan on staying longer to enjoy a Taste of Bayport, Live Music and Fireworks at Dusk.
