Obit: Robert McGarry, 79, of Stillwater

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 115 N. 4th St., Stillwater, MN 55082. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at church.

Family man and business owner Robert McGarry died Friday, May 17, 2013 from complications following surgery. Bob was born in Stillwater on Dec. 10, 1933, and he graduated in 1951 from Stillwater High School, where he played football and basketball. The Ponies remained a lifelong interest of his, and he enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play various sports. Recently, he helped compile and edit an anecdotal history of SHS athletics called Pony Tales from the Sidelines to the Stands. In 1967, he established the Jerry McGarry award in honor of his brother who was killed in Vietnam. Each year it is presented to an outstanding senior Pony basketball player. Dar Breault died suddenly on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Houlton, Wis. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at the Church of St. Michael. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, May 21 at Simonet Funeral Home.

Stillwater lost a beloved icon this week. Darlene Breault died suddenly on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Houlton, Wis. She was born May 11, 1939 in Somerset, the daughter of Mark and Vera Raboin. Dar was a waitress for 42 years at Meister’s Bar and Grill. She enjoyed talking with people which allowed her to enjoy her job for so many years. She is survived by children Michelle (Rick) Ritzer of Stillwater and Kieran Breault of Cottage Grove; grandchildren Jarin Weiss, Amy Breault, Renee Breault, Chelsey Breault; five great-grandchildren, Emmalee, Marissa, Logen, Abby and Briggs; two sisters Alice Mae Leverty and Sheryl Rivard. Obit: Joyce Hooley, 85, Stillwater

Visitation will be on Monday evening at the Social Hall of the Church of St. Michael from 4-7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Church of St. Michael.

Joyce Hooley, 85, of Stillwater Joyce died peacefully in her Stillwater home on April 19, 2013. Loving life to the very end, her last days were spent talking and laughing with her beloved husband Jack, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in everything she did. She played expert Bridge, golfed, skied, swam, played tennis, read, served as a longtime community volunteer and an active Carleton alumna. And she loved a tough crossword puzzle. There was no one like her. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she was unfailing in her affection, warmth, and generosity. Lake Elmo Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash; Funeral Services Set

Anthony John Carlson, 20, of Lake Elmo died after losing control of his motorcycle Thursday evening near Minnemishinona Falls. Carlson was a 2010 graduate of Stillwater Area High School.

A 20-year-old Lake Elmo man has died after losing control of his motorcycle Thursday evening near Minnemishinona Falls. Anthony John Carlson was traveling westbound on a curve of County Road 41 when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck a guardrail, the Associated Press reports. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where he died. Carlson is a 2010 graduate of Stillwater Area High School. Funeral Set for Scandia Firefighter John R. Larson

Larson, 42, of Marine on Saint Croix, died on Feb. 28 from injuries sustained in a car accident on Highway 36 at Manning Avenue in Lake Elmo. Larson served as the Rescue Captain of the Scandia Fire Department.

Lois R. Tuckner, 86, of Stillwater passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2013 at Gables of Boutwell’s Landing. Preceded  in death by husband, Frank M. Tuckner and son, James R. Tuckner. Survived by sons, Bruce, Paul, Roger, Ron and Steve; grandchildren, Michelle, John, Matthew, Danielle, Dillon, Holly, Kayla, Alex, Abigail and Rosemary. She grew up in Centerville, MN, married a man from St. Paul and moved to Roseville, Paletine, IL, Woodbury, while also wintering in Ft. Meyers, FL, before moving to Boutwell’s Landing in Stillwater. Lois delighted in raising six sons as a homemaker. Later in life she became the bookkeeper for the family business. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing. Beloved wife, mother, sister and aunt, Nancy M. Mesenbourg, 62, of Stillwater passed away at home at 9:47 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2013 surrounded by family. A retired employee of Wells Fargo, she is preceded in death by her parents, Harold & Ethel Gross. Survived by husband, Mark; son, Mike; daughter, Stacey; sisters, Donna (Bob) Erwin and Janny (Jack) Hack; brother, Richard (Kathy) Gross; beloved pets, Lucy & Ethel. Funeral Set for Stillwater Native, St. Paul Police Officer Josh Lynaugh

Lynaugh, 30, died Saturday as the result of a heart attack he suffered after being involved in a foot chase a week prior.

The funeral service for St. Paul Police Officer Josh Lynaugh, a Stillwater native, has been set for Friday. Lynaugh, 30, died Saturday as the result of a heart attack he suffered after being involved in a foot chase a week prior. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Thursday at Mueller Parkway Chapel, 835 Johnson Parkway, in St. Paul. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Paul Cathedral, with interment following at Lakeview Cemetery. Lynaugh was a 2001 graduate of Stillwater Area High School. He played football and baseball for the Ponies. Funeral Services Set for Billy Meister

Billy Meister, 22, of Stillwater died on Feb. 16 after riding his snowmobile into open water on the St. Croix River in Bayport.

Funeral arrangements for Billy Meister have been set for this weekend in Stillwater. Visitation will take place Friday, Feb. 22 from 3-7 p.m. at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, located at 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. A mass of Christian Burial will happen at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 611 South 3rd St. Visitation is also one hour prior to the church service. Meister, 22, rode into open water about 75 yards off the shore, where warm water feeds into the river near the Allen S. King Plant in Bayport. First responders pulled Meister from the water and transported him by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where he was later pronounced dead.
