On May 9, Lakeview Hospital honored its volunteers at a “Partners in Healing” luncheon held at Boutwells Landing. Special recognition was given to Janet Roderick for more than 10,000 hours of service, and to Helen Falde, who recently retired from volunteering at the hospital after 51 years. Pictured (left to right) are volunteers who received pins in honor of their 500 to 2,000 hours of service to Lakeview: (front row) Virginia Lake, Mary Cripe, Mary Belschner, Kim Klisch (Coordinator of Volunteer Services); (back row) LC Scott, Larry Auckland, Lorna Montagne, Carol Auckland, Carol Amundson, Mary Baker, Curt Geissler (Lakeview Hospital President), Gayle Parizino, Peggy Spofford. Don Hoye's sunrise over the Stillwater Lift Bridge photo is one of the coolest shots of the bridge I've seen. Thanks for sharing, Don.

Thanks! This was a beautiful (but very cold) morning in December and I was driving down Main Street and noticed the sun just poking over the horizon....I pulled over at just the right time to get this shot! Glad you liked it...it’s one of my favs too!

Don Hoye's bridge pic made me feel cold, but inspired. Bryan Ring's fairway shot made me grab my putter and take a few swings. Shawn's pic of the little guy made me smile. Great pics!

How did you get image 51, Jeff? That's AMAZING! I'm a big fan of macro photography (but don't have the equipment to pull it off) ... Is that a blue sky and the sun in the background? I see the use of a flash, too? Am I correct?

Shawn--I can't give away all my secrets--lol. It was taken in my front yard tree and since I didn't like the gray background color I simply grabbed a school project my son did in school, held it up and used it as the background which made it a lot more interesting.

Anyone else take advantage of today's fog to snap a few shots around town? I'd love to see them.

Nice pic, David. I hear there are Loons on Lake McKusick. Anyone have a photo of those you'd like to share?
