News outlets are reporting that Aaron Schnagl, a friend of Danielle Jelinek, has been named as a person of interest in her disappearance. A third search effort will begin at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
New developments have occurred in the investigation of an Oakdale woman who was last seen on Saturday. Danielle Jelinek was reported missing on Sunday, Dec. 9, after family could not reach her that day. Jelinek was last seen at a residence in Chisago Lake Township on Saturday with Aaron Schnagl, who has been described as Jelinek's on-again/off-again boyfriend. The Chisago County Sheriff's Office did a welfare check on Sunday where they found Jelinek's car, purse, shoes and cell phone. They also found Schnagl's car in a nearby ditch, which Schnagl claims was due to his own search of Jelinek that morning, according to a FOX 9 News report. When David Francis' 24-year-old son went missing in 2006 he didn't realize that his own family-funded search would lead to the founding of The Jon Francis Foundation (JFF) — a Stillwater-based nonprofit organization that seeks to educate safety training, advocate for the legal protection of missing adults and empower and guide families who have a loved one go missing. David's son, Jon Francis, went missing while climbing Grand Mogul in the Sawtooth Mountains. Law enforcement searched for Jon for 29 hours and were unsuccessful. The search for Danielle Jelinek, an Oakdale who has been missing since Saturday, was launched Wednesday afternoon.
Family of Danielle Jelinek, an Oakdale woman who has been missing since Saturday, is asking community members to help search for Jelinek. Jelinek's family sent out the following message Wednesday afternoon: "We are launching a search for my niece, Danielle Jelinek, missing since Saturday. She was last seen in Center City. We are asking for help from anyone who can help us search. Walking, snowshoeing, snowmobiles, 4-wheelers, horses. Any help would greatly appreciated. If you are unable to come up, that's ok — please send good thoughts and prayers to help us locate Dani. The Chisago County Sheriff's Office has issued a search for a 27-year-old Oakdale woman who has not been in contact with friends or family since Saturday. Danielle Jelinek spoke with her family on Saturday while she was visiting a man in Chisago Lake Township. However, when the family tried contacting her on Sunday they were unable to reach Jelinek, said Nikki Nieman, Jelinek's best friend. "A bunch of people talked with her Saturday and then her family started calling on Sunday and she didn't pick up, which wasn't like her at all," Nieman said. Melanie Meri Davy, 15, had been missing since Monday when she didn't return to her mother's home following a visitation with her father. She was found at 7 a.m. today in Lake Elmo.
Lakeville Police Chief Thomas Vonhof has confirmed that a 15-year-old girl missing since Monday has been found safe. Vonhof said Melanie Meri Davy, 15, of Lakeville, who didn't come home after a prearranged visitation with her father on June 11, was found in Lake Elmo, MN, around 7 a.m. today. Authorities were concerned about the girl's welfare because the girl's father, Shon Davy, 38, of Lakeville, has twice been convicted for a sex crimes in Ramsey County, and because he's in need of a personal care attendant because of medical issues. A crime alert was issued yesterday, and Vonhof said a tip came in this morning from someone who saw the alert and flagged down a State Trooper. The 67-year-old man who went missing near Grant last night was found safe early this morning in Columbia Heights.
Authorities have located David Sullivan, the 67 year-old man who went missing from Grant last night. He was found early this morning with family members in Columbia Heights. "After an extended nighttime search and CodeRED phone notifications to the community and citizens of Washington County, a phone tip provided information that lead to locating Mr. Sullivan with family members in Columbia Heights early this morning," a news release from the Washington County Sheriff's Office states.
