Maplewood Police Officer Faces Charges of Providing Alcohol to Minors

Charges allege that Joseph Tran, a former school resource officer with the Maplewood Police Department, provided alcohol to three teenage girls inside his townhome in Stillwater last fall.

A Maplewood police officer faces criminal charges after he allegedly provided alcohol to minors last fall at his Stillwater home. Stillwater police were called to investigate a report of a possible sexual assault and underage drinking on Oct. 8 at Joseph Tran’s home in the 3500 block of Abercrombie Lane. After reviewing the evidence in the case, Fred Fink, head of the Washington County Attorney's Office Criminal Division, said the sexual assault allegation could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt—and felony charges were not filed. But another allegation, stemming from a report that Tran, 34, a former school resource officer with the Maplewood Police Department, provided alcohol to underage persons was charged out by the Stillwater …

Stillwater's 'Taboo Goddess' May Get Another Day in Court

Prosecuting attorney John Magnuson sees the latest motion as a way for Stillwater's accused dominatrix Kristal Ann Taylor to get a redo for her previous court hearings.

Accused Stillwater dominatrix Kristal Ann Taylor could get an opportunity to have her case heard again, but this time, with legal representation.  Taylor, whose last name was erroneously entered as "Zimmerman" in the criminal complaint and court documents, went into the case representing herself after being arrested in June for owning or operating a disorderly house, a gross-misdemeanor offense. Taylor appeared in Washington County District Court Thursday afternoon when her attorney, Joseph P. Tamburino argued that she still had a right to legal representation under the protection of the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.   "Ms. Taylor has never asked for a continuance in this case; she has not dragged her feet," Tamburino told …
