Happening on May 4th, 2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM, this initiative invites residents to come together at Washington Square Park for a meaningful endeavor.

Raingardens play a vital role in managing stormwater runoff and protecting the health of our local waterways such as the St. Croix River and our lakes. By participating in this cleanup effort, you'll not only contribute to the preservation of our environment but also help ensure these rain gardens can continue functioning properly.

This event is not just about cleaning up; it's also an opportunity to connect with your neighbors and strengthen the fabric of our community. Before we break off into teams to tackle rain gardens in the surrounding neighborhoods, we'll gather at the Pavilion at Washington Square Park for refreshments and camaraderie.

Valley Self-Defense teaches Krav Maga, self-defense for every day life situations. We teach you how to use your natural reactions to an attack to keep you and your loved ones safe. Join us for a memorable family-friendly event dedicated to restoring and enhancing the bird habitat at Long Lake. The Long Lake Bird Habitat Planting Party is set to take place on May 18th, 2024, with a rain date scheduled for May 19th. From 9AM to 12PM, we invite participants of all ages to come together at Croixwood Open Square for a day filled with meaningful activities.

Date &amp; Location 
Date: May 18th, 2024 (Rain date: May 19th) Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM 
Location: Croixwood Open Square, situated on the east side of Long Lake. 
Check-in will be conveniently located near Croixwood Blvd and Northland Ave.

Objective
Our primary objectives for the day include:
<ol><li>Planting 300 tree seedlings to bolster the bird habitat.</li><li>Erecting deer fencing around each newly planted tree to protect them.</li><li>Removing invasive species such as buckthorn and garlic mustard, which threatens the ecological balance of the area.</li></ol>
Bird Habitat Expansion
We are passionate about expanding and nurturing the bird habitat at Long Lake. By planting native tree seedlings and removing invasive species, we aim to create a thriving ecosystem that provides food and shelter for a diverse range of bird species. Through these efforts, we hope to contribute to the preservation of local bird populations and promote biodiversity in the area.

Campus Ready is an empowering eight-week course designed to prepare students with essential self-defense skills for college and high school campuses. Whether you're returning to school or embarking on a new educational journey this fall, our program equips you with essential self-defense skills. 

The course is divided into two parts, each spanning four weeks. The first four classes will be Krav Maga, a form of self-defense that focuses on your natural reaction to defend yourself. Classes will include how to punch and kick, as well as how to defend yourself against attacks such as slaps and chokes. The second four classes will be Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a martial art that focuses on defending yourself on the ground.

This class is for ages 14 and up. All are welcome no matter gender or gender expression. Classes start June 5th through July 31st with a break for the July 4th holiday.
