Day Care Kids Donate Lemonade Stand Money to Stillwater Firefighters

"I thought this was probably the cutest thing I've ever seen," Stillwater Fire Chief Stu Glaser said. "To have these little kids do a lemonade stand and actually make the check and present it to us was a wonderful show of support."

A group of kids at Thrive Time Day Care in Stillwater are learning philanthropy at a very early age.

Last week, the Stillwater Fire Department got a request to visit the daycare on Pine Street and give the children a tour of the fire truck and speak about fire safety.

But these kids had a surprise up their sleeve.

After the tour, the children presented the firefighters with a giant check, representing a $25 donation to the department to use for the purchase of equipment.
