Board moves to fix for public works septic system

The Washington County Board will streamline a process to allow Public Works to replace its septic system in its North Shop in Stillwater Township, which quit functioning over two weeks ago.

The Public Works building is in a rural area on Myeron Road North. The staff and any visitors to the building have been using portable toilets in the interim.

The county Department of Public Health and Environment has inspected the site, and no significant environmental impact was found.

The county will gather a professional services team to come up with short-term and long-term solutions that meet current environmental codes, rules and best management practices.
