Wisconsinite Arrested for Chasing People, Offering Teddy Bears & Jelly Beans

A drunken Wisconsinite was arrested in downtown Stillwater last weekend for allegedly flipping off drivers on Main Street, and chasing people down, offering them teddy bears and jelly beans.

A drunken Wisconsin man was arrested in downtown Stillwater last weekend for allegedly chasing people down the street and trying to give them teddy bears and jelly beans.

When Stillwater police arrived just after 6 p.m. Friday, the officer saw a 27-year old Spring Valley, Wis., man standing at the intersection of Myrtle and Main streets giving vehicles the middle finger.

Officers followed the man into Lucky’s Gas Station, made contact with him, told him he was going to be cited for disorderly conduct, and said they would give him a ride to his mother’s house, the report states.

That’s when the man allegedly became belligerent, began resisting arrest and told the officer he was going to have his brother, “kick your ass.”

While in transport to jail, the man attempted to kick out the squad window, the report states. But in between his insults and threats to police, the man reportedly took a liking to one Stillwater Police officer.

When leaving the gas station on the way to jail, the man initially began calling the officer names, the report states. However, throughout the dealings with police—both pre- and post-arrest—he “continued to state over and over that he really liked me and that I was his favorite officer.”

He then asked why the police were doing this to him, to which the officer continued to explain she attempted to give him a ride home, but he “decided to resist and be uncooperative with officers,” the report states.

The man told the officer “it was fine he was going to jail,” the report states, “and that he was going to claim a report that officers beat him.”

The man was cited for disorderly conduct, possession of a small amount of marijuana and obstructing with force. He denied giving the finger to drivers on Main Street and offering people jelly beans and teddy bears.
