A Stillwater native has found himself at the center of the recent IRS scandal that rocked the Obama administration earlier this month, according to a CNN report by Jessica Yellin and Tom Cohen.
Obama's Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough of Stillwater, was made aware in April of the IRS scandal that involved targeting of conservative groups, and he declined to mention it to the president.
From the CNN report:
The White House first was notified of the upcoming report, known as an audit, on April 16, he said, calling that a routine notification also provided to Congress. Ruemmler was told about it eight days later and she informed McDonough and others about it shortly thereafter, Carney said.
