Stillwater's Lumberjack Days AWOL This Weekend
Whatever replaces the long-running summer festival 'maybe won't look like' LJD, the St. Paul Pioneer Press quoted a city official as saying.
If it seems quiet in Stillwater this weekend, that's because in past years it was Stillwater's summer festival time, as the St. Paul Pioneer Press noted:
"The final Lumberjack Days was held in 2011, and city employees have since been gathering information and the city council is weighing how to move forward.
"'Stillwater has had a summer festival for such a long time; it's just part of our expectations,' said Community Development Director Bill Turnblad. 'It's lot of fun, and people look forward it. We're looking for something to replace it, but maybe it won't look like Lumberjack Days.'"
See video of the Stillwater City Council discussing the summer festival situation above.
